About IEEE-EMBS Student Branch Chapter (SBC 60891A)
IEEE-EMBS Student Branch Chapter (SBC 60891A) has been established in April, 2015 by Department of Biotechnology, K. S. Rangasamy College of Technology. The Branch Chapter has been approved by IEEE-EMBS Head Quarters, New Jersey, USA. The motto of the branch chapter is to enhance humanitarian activities through social and community services. The branch chapter has been started with the total members of twelve and through membership campaigns, the member count has been increased. At present, the branch chapter is running with two professional members and twenty five student members.
From its establishment, the branch chapter is working for the benefit of the members through member centered activities including technical, Non-technical, Social activities. The contribution of the chapter do not ends with the member centered activities but also for the society through humanitarian programmes. The branch chapter activities are frequently reported in vtools and IEEE MAS LINK. The branch chapter releases newsletter biannually. The Newsletter covers the branch chapter activities, EMBS news, general articles and forth coming events.
The branch chapter associates with Public Awareness Club (PAC) and Press and Media Club (PMC) launched by our Department in organizing awareness programmes especially in the field of Cancer and Diabetes. The awareness programmes are mainly focusing the school children and the rural public.
